Self esteem with baseball.

I know I had those times where I'd embarassed myself at training and I was like, 'what the hell is the point?' but I came across a question on yahoo answers that brought me right back up!.

Like seriously, some of the answers were so nice,

'What's wrong with playing baseball if you're a girl? If you enjoy playing do it, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you can't match the power with the guys, not every team is full of power hitters. If you can run fast that makes you valuable for legging out ground balls and perhaps stealing. You would probably make a good leadoff hitter for getting on base and having someone else drive you in.'

advantages of playing baseball as a girl

People may say that it's a man's sport, but in my opinion.. no.
I think that girl's who play baseball are amazing, we're in a predominately male sport, but yet we still stick in there.

• We make a lot more effort to prove ourselves, this means extra training and making actual effort when the guys just want to look cool.
• We are usually leaner with a little less muscule*typo* and height than boys so therefore we are usually swifter and more agile in getting to places.
• We are less gangly and dis-cordinated than boys, so we can usually smack that ball to infield quite easily.
• We are usually enthusiastic and friendly and fun to be around, the aspects of a great team mate.
• We care less about looking cool.
• We have hips which make it easier to swing at balls rather than boys.

A little background information :D

Okay,
I'm a girl, and I play baseball, pretty religiously. I've been searching around for a blog like this,
I mean, maybe there aren't other girls like me. But then again maybe there are. This is for us girls that might play softball but love baseball, or us girls that just love baseball with all our hearts and hate no one catering for us ever, no one ever bringing out a girl's baseball bat, just a softball bat :D
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think we need a voice, I mean look, I typed baseball girl into google images. and I got the image at the top of this page, I typed tips for girls baseball. Nothing useful. So if you need anything on this page, just drop a comment. Seriously anything. Like something as trivial as how to wear your hair to something like hitting :D


ON WITH THE BACKGROUND INFO :

I play on a team with all boys and I don't think that looking presentable on the pitch is vanity, I breath baseball. I love the ping/crack of the bat, the smell of fresh grass mixed with mud and paint in the pitch, and that feeling you get in batting practice when you hit it and you step back and say.. woah I hit that ball hard.
