Okay,
I'm a girl, and I play baseball, pretty religiously. I've been searching around for a blog like this,
I mean, maybe there aren't other girls like me. But then again maybe there are. This is for us girls that might play softball but love baseball, or us girls that just love baseball with all our hearts and hate no one catering for us ever, no one ever bringing out a girl's baseball bat, just a softball bat :D
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think we need a voice, I mean look, I typed baseball girl into google images. and I got the image at the top of this page, I typed tips for girls baseball. Nothing useful. So if you need anything on this page, just drop a comment. Seriously anything. Like something as trivial as how to wear your hair to something like hitting :D
ON WITH THE BACKGROUND INFO :
I play on a team with all boys and I don't think that looking presentable on the pitch is vanity, I breath baseball. I love the ping/crack of the bat, the smell of fresh grass mixed with mud and paint in the pitch, and that feeling you get in batting practice when you hit it and you step back and say.. woah I hit that ball hard.
Wow. When I typed baseball girl into the google search window I sure didn't expect to find this, but I'm glad I did. It really helps to know that other girls are sticking to what they love to do instead of changing just because of what other people think and say. We really do need a voice!!!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow afternoon I'll be in working out with all the other guys to get ready for tryouts in the spring. God, just thinking about it makes me nervous and excited all at the same time. I love playing baseball and have never, ever considered switching to softball, but I'm really unsure about if I can keep up training. I need to be just as good (maybe even better) than the guys, so I know that I'm going to be trying a whole lot harder than I'll want to be. It's really helpful to know that there's at least one other girl like me- Maybe that'll keep me on track.
Anyways, if you have any tips on absolutely anything, I'd be happy to hear them. I'll make sure to keep reading this blog.
